Does Your Dog Like The Beach?

Dog Friendly Vacation Beaches

  • Stump Pass Beach State Park right here on Manasota Key allows leashed dogs in the park and on the walking trail, but not on the beach areas.
  • Brohard Paw Park in Venice welcomes unleashed dogs on the beach to play in the water.  This park is located 25 minutes north of us.

Local regulations apply and most beaches do not allow dogs on their premises.

Tips For Bringing Dogs To The Beach

  • Safety First: Bring a shady umbrella to help your dog stay cooler.  Also, bring plenty of cold water and frequently check for any signs of heat fatigue.
  • Clean Up: Be sure to pick-up any droppings so that the beach is nice to use for everyone else too!
  • Rinse Off: Carefully rinse and wash your dog to make sure no sand or salt water sticks to them which can be highly irritating to their skin.

If these are all done right, you will enjoy a great dog friendly vacation rental alongside your furry friend!  Your dog will also enjoy relaxing by the water and a nice ocean breeze.

Beachcomber of Manasota Key certainly

welcomes you to bring your dog.

Unfortunately, our public beaches on Manasota Key

do not permit dogs because

Turtle Nesting Season is from May 1st until October 31st. In addition, our own Stump Pass Beach State Park is home to nesting birds year round.
